Out of the Can is an LGBTQIA+ youth group supporting young people aged 12 to 19 in Swindon and surrounding areas. It offers a safe space for anyone who feels they belong to the LGBTQIA+ community, including those questioning their sexuality or gender identity.
The group runs two free sessions every Tuesday evening, split by age group: Year 8 to Year 10, and Year 11 up to college. Members can meet others, share experiences, and grow together without having to worry what others might think.
The group also offers volunteering opportunities for adults who can spare time on Tuesday evenings. A short film made by young members, in partnership with Mountain Way Pictures and funded by Wiltshire Community Foundation, shows what the group is like.
