Cookies

Draft — under review

This page reflects ICO guidance on cookies under UK PECR (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). It is not legal advice, has not been checked by a solicitor, and will be reviewed and amended by Pete before launch.

We keep this simple: this site sets exactly one cookie, and it isn't used to track you.

The one cookie we set

We set a single cookie called theme-preference, which remembers whether you've chosen light or dark mode. It only stores your display choice, is never sent to any third party, and isn't used for analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.

Why we don't need a cookie banner

UK cookie law (PECR) requires a consent banner for cookies that aren't essential to the service you've asked for — mainly analytics, advertising and tracking cookies. Because our only cookie is a low-risk display preference rather than tracking, and we set nothing else, we don't show a cookie banner. You can still change your theme at any time using the on-screen toggle, or clear the cookie in your browser settings.

What we don't do

We don't use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or any cross-site tracking technology. We do use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service — but it doesn't set a cookie of any kind, doesn't track you across visits, and doesn't change anything on this page: our one theme-preference cookie above remains the only cookie this site sets. See our Privacy policy for exactly what Plausible records.
