Roots is a registered charity and queer touring theatre company based in Yorkshire, promoting the art of drama for public benefit. It stages ambitious productions made in collaboration with communities and LGBTQIA+ artists, including UK and international tours.
Its past work includes the Fringe First Award-winning show 'Happy Meal', along with events such as Climate Pride, a Queer Scratch Night at Unity Theatre, and Queer Spaces: Live!. These projects bring together writers, performers and audiences around queer stories and experiences.
Roots partners with LGBTQIA+ artists, communities and charities to create theatre projects, supporting the development of queer people's creativity in North Yorkshire and beyond. Its work aims to develop the talents of emerging artists and first-time participants alike.
