Rainbow Ruckus exists to create safe, inclusive and supportive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people across West Yorkshire. It provides opportunities for social connection, creative expression, education and wellbeing.
Its activities include community events, workshops, peer support groups and celebrations. These aim to empower LGBTQIA+ people, reduce isolation and build resilience.
Rainbow Ruckus gives particular focus to young LGBTQIA+ people seeking safe spaces and role models, and to trans and non-binary people. It also focuses on LGBTQIA+ elders and people from marginalised ethnic, cultural or faith backgrounds within the LGBTQIA+ community.
All profits and assets are reinvested into the organisation's community purposes. This includes running accessible events, offering free or low-cost tickets for people with limited means, and expanding wellbeing and peer support services.
