Get to know this service
Radical Weavers is a working weaving studio in Stirling, Scotland, offering hands-on tartan workshops, handmade Scottish gifts and the Tartan Radicals exhibition. It mainly supports young adults who are neurodiverse and/or LGBTQIA+ into employment or education.
Its Crafting for Good project lets people learn or relearn craft skills in a safe, welcoming studio, later making pieces to donate to charities. Through this, people build a sense of community within the creative space.
A project called Nip & Tuck has helped transgender people alter clothing so it fits and flatters bodies that off-the-rack clothing often does not suit. Its workshops also aimed to build community for a group often socially isolated.
