About
Sqiff has run an annual queer film festival in Glasgow since 2015, alongside year-round events across Scotland, including pop-up screenings and community-focused programmes. It builds community through queer films, showing work that audiences might not otherwise get to see and putting on informative events alongside the screenings. The charity supports marginalised groups within the LGBTQIA+ community through a networking system for queer filmmakers and filmmaking workshops for audiences, while working to challenge inequalities and remove barriers to accessing the arts. It has also been a pioneer in accessibility within the film exhibition sector.
