Get to know this service
Positive Help provides practical and emotional support to people affected by HIV and Hepatitis C across the Lothians, aiming to reduce social isolation.
Its origins lie in supporting adults and parents with young children diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, including many drug-dependent and gay or bisexual men facing prejudice and discrimination. It became a registered Scottish charity in 1989.
Services include a Supportive Transport team helping people attend health and social care appointments, and a Live Well service to build social connection.
The organisation also works with children and young people through a Children's Befriending service, supporting them with confidence, new activities and schoolwork. People can self-refer or be referred by a professional.
