About

Iris Prize Outreach offers training and education in film production, supporting people who face discrimination because of their sexual orientation and working towards equality and diversity in the industry. It backs film productions made by winners of the Iris Prize, an international short film prize for lesbian and gay films based in Cardiff. The wider Iris Prize is an LGBTQIA+ film festival held annually in Cardiff and online across the UK, bringing together screenings, industry days and parties as a celebration of LGBTQIA+ storytelling. The festival includes the Iris Prize itself, a £40,000 short film award, and partners with film festivals and organisations worldwide, marking its 20th anniversary in 2026 with the next edition running from 12 to 18 October that year.
