About this event

Join Dan for a lovely mid-week leg stretcher following The Baker Way out from Chester to Delamere Forest. From our meeting spot we will take a short train ride into the city and start The Baker Way properly, following the Shropshire Union Canal away from the hustle and bustle to Christleton, and then gently heading uphill and cross country, over the pictured packhorse bridge and through Tarvin.Continuing north and west we cross Salters Brook and skirt around the outside of Mouldsworth (and a train station option for an early finish if the weather is terrible or the distance is too much), before forging through the lush Delamere Forest and back to the car park. This walk is roughly 21.5 km/13 miles, on footpaths, muddy fields and lots of stiles with a total ascent of 179m.Well-behaved OutdoorDogs are very welcome but please ensure they are adequately prepared for all conditions just as much as you are. Note: Leads will be required in areas with livestock, and we will be crossing awkward stiles frequently. Are you new to Outdoorlads and considering your first event? Have a look at this link, hopefully it will help. (https://www.outdoorlads.com/my-first-event)Don’t worry if the event is full.Do sign up and join the waiting list.Often those on the main list cancel nearer the time. There is a very high chance you will still get a placePhotos provided by event leader with permission for use on other ODL events.
