About this event
Join the OutdoorLads for a walk in the Cheviot hills in the atmospheric and remote Ingram Valley on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The route is a shorter one around five miles but does involve a steeper hike on rarer rocky ground and is considered to be a very hilly walk so what this day out lacks in distance makes up for in effort on the ascents. There will be the opportunity to see at close quarters a ruin of a substantial hill fort standing out on a higher spur of land that jolts out with the rocky beautiful River Breamish flowing below.A combination of ancient history, remote unspoilt hillsides and great views and is highly recommended for a few hours in great company. After the walk there is a canny café to visit for food and refreshment.Photo Credits : Photos were taken by OutdoorLads members Lee and Steve and permission has been granted to use.
