About this event
Join Mark for a fantastic 20.5km (12.5-mile) urban and parkland wander through some of Nottingham’s finest green spaces, waterways, and historic grounds. We'll be stepping away from the rugged peaks for a day to enjoy a surprisingly green city route!Starting right by the iconic Nottingham Castle gatehouse, we'll head down to the Nottingham and Beeston Canal, following the towpath as it leads us away from the city centre. We'll eventually leave the canal to wander through the University of Nottingham campus, taking in the lovely Highfields Park and its boating lake.From there, we cross into the magnificent Wollaton Park. We'll have a chance to spot the resident red and fallow deer and take in the impressive Elizabethan Wollaton Hall (which you might recognise as Wayne Manor from The Dark Knight Rises). We'll find a good spot in the park grounds for our packed lunches before winding our way back towards the city centre to complete the circular route.Why not make a weekend of it and join us for the Nottingham Autumn Social on the same evening?
