About this event

Celebrate Halloween in the birthplace of William Penn (founder of the Province of Pennsylvania and the centre of Quakerism).  The hamlet of Jordans will be our base for the weekend as we explore this little slice of Buckinghamshire. We will stay at YHA Jordans, just a 25 minute drive from Amersham, at the end of the Metropolitan Line.  The single storey hostel sleeps 18 in 4 bedrooms (2 four bed and 2 five bed - all rooms open directly to the outdoors) and will be dog-friendly for this weekend.Friday afternoon / evening arrive anytime after 16.00, find a bed and get ready to enjoy a build-your-own taco bar with all the fixings.  Feel free to contribute to dessert! This is a great time to catch up with friends old and new!Saturday breakfast will be my "famous" chocolate brioche eggy bread, as well as traditional brekkie offerings.  We will then head out on this 12 mile circular into the village of Amersham and back.  Lunch will be at The Saracen's Head, a coaching inn built in the early 1530's and rumoured to be haunted!  All food and drink is payable individually and vegetarian / gluten-free options are available.Upon return to the hostel there will be time to rest and relax before a full-blown build-your-own fajita bar!  The evening will consist of board and card games and perhaps a Halloween-themed movie!!Sunday will see us leaving by 10.00 so breakfast will be a general continental set up.If this is your first event, don't be put off if you lack some of the necessary equipment; just message me on [email protected] and we will see what can be worked out! Good to Know....BeddingTraditional "YHA bedding" is provided (a duvet, mattress cover and pillow) but personal pillows and sheets always add to the comfort level..DogsThis is a dog friendly event (maximum of two well behaved furry friends) so please email [email protected] prior to booking if you intend to bring your pooch with you.Photos provided courtesy of www.unsplash.com and ODL members.
