About this event

A leisurely cycle in the White Peak area of the Peak DistrictWe will ride a mixture off-road trails, quiet single track lanes and  a short short section of main road. The route will take us down Long Dale to Hartington before joining the Manifold Trail (former rail line) to Wetton Mill, where we face a stiff climb out of the Manifold Valley to  Wetton Village and a proposed cafe stop for refreshments. We then head east following quiet lanes and an offroad bridleways through Beresford Dale to cross the River Dove before climbing up to join the Tissington Trail, a former railway route now converted to  a very popular route for both walkers and cyclists. The Tissington Trail climbs gradually all the way to the Northern End close to the end of the ride.Ride is approximately 40km with 600m of climbingFor this ride, Mountain Bike, Road, Gravel or Hybrid bike is suitable, surfaces are good on the off road sections. Whilst the ascent may appear significant, we have plenty of time to take the climbs slowly and we will ride at the pace of the slowest, wait at the top of climbs, none of the climbs are excessively steep, but should you need to walk, no one we be left behind.Should you have any questions about the route please message the leader.Want to keep in touch with what's going on in the Midlands / ODL Central Region?   Sign up for Central Region Events Notifications (Telegram Channel) and the Central Region Telegram Chat Group, and bookmark our upcoming events list via the short link:  https://outdoorlads.events/central.All photos taken by Author
