About this event
This incredible coming of age movie, filmed in Thamesmead, tells the story of Jamie Gangel (a council-estate lad) infatuated with his neighbour Ste. Throw in Jamie's single mother Sandra (who dreams of owning her own pub), and Leah (who constantly listens to Mama Cass records) and you end up with a moving - and sometimes gut-wrenching - love story.Use this link to book your tickets; seating is unallocated so we will meet in the lobby and hopefully be able to sit together. Please note that the screening starts PROMPTLY at 18.15 (this is the best showing time in London). Tickets are £14.00 (£13.50 for seniors). The Genesis Cinema is an independent, family-run venue in Mile End.If the event fills, please join the waitlist and I will try to add more spaces as the cinema allows.Beautiful Thing Director Hettie MacDonald will lead a Q&A at the end of the movie, which could be very interesting. Please be advised that the movie contains themes of homophobia, homophobic violence, drug use and child abuse.Photos courtesy of www.pexels.com and used with permission and thanks
